Considering how well you write, I don't think you'll have any problem getting your certificate!
Wow, thank you! All my fandom activity's in English and so's most of my reading, so I'm good at colloquial English, but I always sound like a Regency rake when I'm aiming at sounding formal.
Thank you for the offer to Skype - I've not yet reached the point of "actually conversing with actual people", but when I do, I might just take you up on that offer.
[Also, khm, while you're being all offerful, I don't suppose you have a download address for Shakespeare in Love, too? I browsed all our local DVD stores, having decided to go legal for once (for luck), but none of them had it, and all the links I've found were misfires, alas. There's no rush, I probably shan't go take the exam till September!]
Your friend sounds extremely awesome. My Immortal is fascinating from a Gender Studies pov, too, because the MC (Ravyn? I don't know) is basically wish-fulfillment, oui? Or a successful parody thereof. So clearly she's also a good summary of all the extremely contradictory standards of perfection girls (even/especially the 'rebel' demographic) are expected to achieve.
Also, yeah, Hagrid is a satanist, and it's all more hilarious than it legally should be.
